For this job, I took several crew-members and a high-quality video camera to the Canadian Rockies in order to capture Ultra High Definition footage of the Perseid meteor shower. This footage had very specific requirements as it was to be inserted into an astronomy documentary (to be released Winter, 2018). Due to the freezing temperatures and long treks on foot to get to our filming locations, it was incredibly important for me to run the shoot in such a way as to be highly adaptable to issues and changes to our plans.
In total, 12 time-lapse shots were captured over the course of a week at night. All were submitted to the client in RAW 4K Cine, as well as compressed Full HD H.264 proxy files. Due to their size, the files were shipped to the client on a hard drive.
